Our Go-To Playlists for Long Drives
When it comes to long drives, my playlists are a little eclectic. I love mixing it up, drawing from all sorts of genres, eras, and methods to keep things interesting and the miles rolling by.
You’ll find everything from musicals to the energetic beats from the 2000s. Sometimes, I channel my inner tavern wench with fantasycore tunes, or get swept away by the powerful vocals of Peter Hollens. There’s always room for a little nostalgia, so 90s and 2000s girl bands and boy bands make frequent appearances, alongside alternative rock, emo, and punk and Disney!
For something a bit different, I’ll throw in Irish punk rock, Celtic music, and even some valerykie music for those moments when I want to feel transported to another world. Studio Ghibli piano pieces and fantasy background music are perfect for those peaceful stretches of highway.
But it’s not just music that keeps me company. I’m a huge fan of audiobooks on the road, especially fantasy, romantasy, LitRPG, romance, gothic fantasy, and even business books. There’s nothing like getting lost in a great story while the scenery changes outside your window.
I could list some of my favorites, but I always try to pick ones that others can relate to—no need to scare anyone off with my more unusual choices! Whether you’re into high-energy anthems, soothing instrumentals, or captivating stories, there’s something on my playlist for every kind of road tripper.
